Ted Talks Today

2- Picture and Brief Bio

Greg Gage
Greg helps others investigate the neuroscience of people's brains. He is a neuroscientist and an engineer who wants to help kids learn about how brains and neurons work. Every kid barely knows anything about the brain and what Greg wants to do is let all the kids know more about what the brain does and how it functions.

3- Why we should watch this in class
We should watch this because it teaches us a lot about the brain. It is really interesting and it is not boring at all. It also teaches us more about the brain and how it functions. Another reason why we should watch this is because it could give us a heads up for future classes (like maybe in high school) in which we have to learn about the brain or something else related to it. My final reason in why we should watch this is because it shows us how we can use our brain in a certain way. I find it really interesting in the way that they used the brain and electrodes to control someone.

Favourite Photo

Favourite Photo

The reason why this is my favourite photo is because I enjoy close ups. I really enjoy editing some random close up pictures I would take sometimes. And it would then later turn into this photo. I had a fun time editing it and I appreciate my group using this photo of all the photos. This was the scene where scott threw his cigar on the ground and stepped it out. But this really made my day. It was the best photo that I have done this year with great editing. This was also used by Mr.Cheney which made this photo more special to me.

UNIFORMS
Schools all around the world have uniforms. But that is something I would like to talk about. Uniforms are not really beneficial to us. There are more downsides to wearing uniforms. Some of the downsides are you can't express yourself in colours or stylize, it wastes a lot of money and it is hard to tell who is who. ¨The four cornerstones of character on which the structure of nation was built are initiative, imagination, individuality, and independence. -Edward Vernon Rickenbacker-.¨ By wearing uniforms it pretty much destroys these.

You can not show who you are by wearing uniforms. Most of the times clothes represents who you are. If you wear rainbow clothes it basically shows you are a party guy. If you wear fancy clothing you are more of a rich guy. As shown in the quote wearing clothes and stylizing is a part of imagination and independence so by wearing uniforms it basically destroys these.

Money is important for many things. But spending a lot of money on clothes is different. You would buy regular clothes normally so why not wear those to school. You waste more money on buying uniforms. Also on maybe an art day you will have to wash it due to stains which will cause stress for your parents due to them washing it constantly.

My last point is because it is hard to tell who is who. As everyone is the same, it is hard to tell who is who. People may say it prevents bullying from happening but in fact it does not. Bully rates are still the same. The only thing I find beneficial about this is being able to find where your school is on a field trip or something like that.

In conclusion you should not wear uniforms in schools. You can not stylize, it wastes money and it is hard to tell who is who. I hope you understand and thanks a lot.
